Markem-Imaje, a wholly owned subsidiary of the US-based Dover Corporation, has invested Rs 80 crore in the manufacturing facility in the NCR to expand its India operations.

The company is a manufacturer of product identification and traceability solutions and is among the leading players in the global coding industry.

The company has invested in its first plant at RIICO Industrial Area, Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.

The plant will also be the head office of the company in India and facility is intended to cater the domestic market.

“By supplying batch coding and variable data printing machines used in segments as diverse as food and beverage, pharmaceutical, automotive and extrusion, we enable safety and traceability, while making counterfeiting harder,” said Rajashekar Venkat, Managing Director India Operations, Markem-Imaje.

The newly inaugurated plant is spread in 5.5 acres. The company chose this industrial hub in the North of India, to house coder and ink production, commercial operations, aftermarket support and back-office functions.

“Our new site is proof of our unwavering interest in bringing world- leading printing and coding solutions to India and its neighbours,” said Vincent Vanderpoel, President and CEO of Markem-Imaje.
