In a development that may create fresh job opportunities for more than 5,000 people and spur industrial growth in the Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh, multinational company (MNC) AB Mauri will invest about Rs 1,100 crore to set up a greenfield yeast manufacturing plant in the district.
UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has allotted nearly 257 acres of land to MNC at Bhara Pachpedwa village in Pilibhit district.
“Since, the project would be developed in Pilibhit flanking the Bareilly-Haridwar highway, it would cater to the markets in both UP and the adjoining state of Uttarakhand,” a government spokesperson told Business Standard.
AB Mauri is a multinational United Kingdom-based yeast and bakery ingredients maker with production facilities in West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala and Karnataka.
The Yogi Adityanath led BJP government in Uttar Pradesh is aggressively pushing for creating an environment to attract investments to the state. Recently Uttar Pradesh was ranked 2nd in terms of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in India, and the state is eyeing the top slot in the next ranking.
In February, the Yogi government had approved a 700-acre Electronics City project near the upcoming Noida International Airport; the government estimates that the project would attract investments to a tune of Rs 40,000 crore.
