Industrial Development Authority Uttar Pradesh (UPCD) has sought proposals worth more than Rs 1,00,000 crore from investors for setting up industrial units in Uttar Pradesh. Out of this, MoUs worth Rs 83,000 crore have already been signed.

A senior administrative official told India Today that High Flow Industries will invest Rs 3,000 crore in Agra. Also, there is a proposal to invest Rs 6000 crore in the leather industry. With this, more than 5 lakh employment opportunities will be created in all the districts, including Agra. This MoU will be finalized during the Global Investors Summit to be held in Lucknow from February 10-12.

UPCD CEO Mayur Maheshwari said that the government is moving towards making Uttar Pradesh a $10 trillion economy. “To achieve the target, 9 teams of UPCD senior officers have been formed and meetings have been held with investors and entrepreneurs in 22 districts in the first phase. During this, MOU has also been done with the investors. Interest has been shown to invest mainly in food processing, textile, automobile, private industrial park, warehousing, industry, medical sector, biofuel, toy products, data center, IT, and electronics sectors,” said the CEO.

According to an information received by India Today, UPCD has allegedly also prepared a land bank of more than Rs 15,000 crore to make land available to investors. An investment of Rs 6000 crore is proposed in the leather and footwear industry. Indian Corporation has also proposed an investment of Rs 2000 crore in Varanasi for setting up logistics and warehouse. Apart from this, there have been many other investment proposals in different areas.

A senior official told India Today that the MOUs signed by UPCD are expected to provide employment to lakhs of people.

Among the major MoUs that have been signed, an industrial park will be set up by a Ghaziabad group for Rs 10,000 crore, which will benefit 10,000 people. There is a possibility of investment of Rs 8,000 crore on the establishment of Mobility Infrastructure Group Logistics and Warehouse Park in Gautam Buddha Nagar. With this, 1000 people will be able to get jobs.

Similarly, Mega Leather Cluster Development UP Limited is planning to set up a leather industry in Kanpur with an investment of Rs 6,000 crore, which will provide employment to about 2 lakh people.

According to Vishal Sharma, secretary of the Agra Tourist Welfare Chamber, the Uttar Pradesh government has increased the investment made through the Global Investors Summit by more than Rs. 7,00,000 crores this year. For this, the old targets of all the departments have also been revised.
