A whopping Rs 25,000 crore worth of export has been done by the Tamil Nadu IT sector in the last 2 quarters.
Even in the corona crisis, where the whole nation was suffering, Tamil Nadu’s IT industry has done a commendable job.
“I am very glad to inform you that we have shown Rs. 25,000 crore exports in the last 2 quarters of this financial year which is actually more than last year’s exports during these two quarters,” said. Sanjay Tyagi, Director, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI).
The state will host the CONNECT 2020, which will be the 19th edition of the premier annual conference and exhibition on Information and Communication Technology.
The five-day virtual conference is organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), jointly with the Government of Tamil Nadu and co-hosted by STPI – Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), Government of India.
The event will be held between 15th-19th September. The theme is ‘Technology as an enabler for getting back growth”.
This event mainly focuses on how the ICT sector in the state can be improved,what are the future plans and how are the current ventures going on. We all know how unemployment has struck the nation. Unemployment is at its peak. Regarding that Mr. Verma (Additional Chief Secretary, Information Technology Department, Government of Tamil Nadu) said
“Once we have the bandwidth through the Bharat Net project, we will have all the 17,000 villages with broadband connectivity and infrastructure. We have the talent also so we must create meaningful and sustainable jobs at the village level,”
