BENGALURU: The Indian Railways and Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to seal a partnership with innovative financing to build the Kempegowda international airport halt station.
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Union Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi were present on the occasion.
The construction of the halt station by BIAL is nearing completion and will be thrown open soon.
BIAL will hand over the station to the railways, which will operate and maintain the station.
BIAL will provide free shuttle services from the Airport Halt Station to the terminal and other parts of the airport, as per the schedule of the train services.
The initiative will provide for an economical and efficient mode of transport to the residents and business commuters from all parts of Bengaluru, BIAL said in a statement.
