Umargam Industries Association is an organization established in the year 1969 by industries and industrialists of G. I. D. C. Industrial Estate of Umargam, which came into being in the year 1967. It is an estate originally conceived as an Engineering Zone has now diverse nature of industries in the G. I. D. C. Estate.

As on date there are almost 1,200 industries in the estate spread over 388 Hectors of land.It is located on Western Railway Mumbai Delhi route connected by Umargam Railway Station and it is 16 Kms. away from the National Highway No. 48 at Talasari in Maharashtra. It is located 144 Kms. from Mumbai by rail and 168 Kms. by Road.

It is the nearest industrial estate to Mumbai. It has diversified nature of industries like Engineering, Textiles, Plastic, Writing Instruments, Ferrous Non Ferrous metal, Food Processing industries and many similar industries. There are many national brands being produced in the estate. There are many home grown industries which have grown to be medium and large scale industries. the Umargam Industries Association plays the role of representative body of the industries and industrialists of the G. I. D. C. Industrial estate of Umargam.

It takes care of the well being of the industries in the estate. It presents and represents issues pertaining to the industries to the various Government authorities, agencies and Government itself. It is a role of the Umargam Industries Association to see to it that conducive environment is provided to the industries and industrialists. It coordinates providence of the industrial and social infrastructure within G. I. D. C. Industrial Estate taking care of the all future and environmental requirements keeping pace with the time.
