Wai Industrial Area is situated on the Wai-Bhor state highway, 10 km from NH 4 and three km from Wai city. The main objective of the area is to promote industrial growth in Wai taluka. MIDC started developing 195.92 hectares of this industrial area.

 Presently all the infrastructural facilities are ready and about 432 small and medium sized plots have been carved out, which includes 293 industrial plots, 33 commercial plots,52 residential, nine amenities plots, 35 small plots (shops, stalls, etc), and 10  sheds. Of these, 18 industrial, 4 commercial, 17 residential, 10 small plots and 1 amenity plots are available for allotment.

 This area is well planned and most of the units are in production. Water: MIDC has developed 195.96 hectares of total land for engineering units, for plots of different amenity use and 351 plots for commercial use have been allotted.

MIDC has developed its own water supply scheme to cater 3.6 MLD of water. The water is sourced from river Menavali Jack well. The area is 32 Km away from Mahabaleshwar.

MIDC has constructed approach road bypassing Wai town.
